Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra - Open Rehearsal

Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra - Open Rehearsal

Embrace the Arts to enhance your mental wellbeing! The arts dose for mental wellbeing is two or more hours a week - Good Arts, Good Mental Health, Univ Western Australia

The Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, was founded in 1977 as the Karrinyup Symphony with the help of GROW Australia. The Orchestra's first MetSO Young Artist was centred around supporting a young musician with mental health difficulties. That young man went on to become world renowned pianist David Helfgott OAM. Through our partnership now with Act Belong Commit (Mentally Healthy WA), we are still committed to supporting mental well-being through participation in community arts.

We welcome string players AMEB 6+ to join in our open rehearsal, and anyone from the general public who might be interested in experiencing a live orchestral rehearsal.

For catering purposes and to ensure we have sufficient music parts for players, please register your interest by emailing: [email protected]

This is a public event open to the whole community.
