Quandong Jam Making Workshop
Participants will be taught how to make quandong jam. Quandong is a fruit grown on native trees in our area and has been used by Aboriginals for medicinal purposes. The fruit will need to be picked in advance and can be done by the participants. A bus will take them to local areas/farms where the trees grow in their own natural habitat. All ages and capabilities will be able to participate in picking the fruit. The picked fruit will be stored in buckets at the beacon Recreation Complex where the jam making will take place a few days later. Jars, ingredients and cooking equipment will be provided. Each participant will get to take home their own creation to either keep or give away as gifts.
This is a public event open to the whole community.
