Community Grants Program
We’re proud to once again be offering the Community Grants Program in 2026, with $40,000 worth of funding for WA organisations, community groups and mental health workers.
These annual grants help more communities celebrate WA Mental Health Week, fund equipment that will positively impact mental health, and increase access to quality mental health training.
Grants are awarded across three categories – Events, Equipment and Education.
*Please note, grant conditions have changed this year. Funds for Event and Equipment grants can now be used throughout the whole month of October.

Grant applications close at 5.00pm on Friday 14 August and all applications must be received by the deadline.
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by Friday 4 September via email.
Successful recipients of a grant for an Event will receive up to $1,500 to host an event or activity during October 2026, for the purposes of increasing mental health awareness and fostering connection within their community.
Grants for Events are available to any Western Australian not-for-profit organisation.
Please note the following terms and conditions of a grant for an Event:
- Applications must be submitted on behalf of a WA not-for-profit organisation.
- Proposed events or activities must be held during the month of October 2026.
- All events and activities must be registered on the WA Mental Health Week event calendar.
- Any marketing materials used to promote an event or activity must include the WA Mental Health Week logo, which will be supplied to successful grant applicants.
- Grant recipients will be required to supply an invoice to WAAMH by 18 September 2026 in order to receive their grant funding.
- All successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified via email.
Successful recipients of a grant for Equipment will receive up to $1,000 to purchase equipment that can be used by clients, customers, members or staff to engage in:
- Physical activity
- Arts and crafts
- Music
- Creative writing
Grants for Equipment are available to any Western Australian not-for-profit organisations, as well as school P&Cs, community groups and sporting clubs.
Please note the following terms and conditions of a grant for Equipment:
- Applications must be submitted on behalf of a WA not-for-profit organisation, a school P&C, community group or sporting club.
- Successful grant recipients will be required to supply an invoice to WAAMH by 18 September 2026 in order to receive their grant funding.
- Successful grant recipients will also be required to purchase the equipment before or during October 2026.
- All successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified via email.
Successful recipients of a grant for Education will receive 1x free registration for one of the following training courses delivered by WAAMH:
- Mental Health in the Workplace - Tuesday 6 October.
- Navigating Professional Boundaries - Tuesday 21 October.
- Being Trauma Responsive - Thursday 29 October.
- De-escalation Skills Youth - Friday 30 October.
These courses are delivered face-to-face in a central Perth CBD location, between 9.00am and 4.30pm. To learn more about the course content, please view the training catalogue.
Grants for Education are available to any Western Australians working or volunteering with not-for-profit organisations, whose work relates to mental health.
Please note the following terms and conditions of a grant for Education:
- Applicants must reside in WA and work or volunteer for a not-for-profit organisation whose work relates to mental health.
- WAAMH will do its utmost to respect applicants’ course preferences, but due to demand, first preferences cannot be guaranteed.
- Applicants must make all reasonable efforts to ensure they are available to attend the training courses at the dates, times and location listed above.
- If grant recipients can no longer attend their allocated course, they will forfeit their training registration. No transfers or exchanges are possible.
- Successful grant recipients will receive confirmation of their training registration by email.
- No more than six (6) attendees from a single employer can attend the same training course.
- All successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified via email.
