JUST A FARMER is an award-winning, powerful and moving film that tells the story of farmers and explores the challenges and struggles experienced by them and their families. Focusing on the importance of mental health in rural communities, the film portrays the reality of grief, loss and resilience – allowing it to resonate deeply with audiences and have a lasting impact on communities around the world. The film portrays a farming family grappling with loss and mental health. It has won numerous awards including BEST NARRATIVE FEATURE at the Iris Global Health Film Festival and the AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD at the Saint-Tropez Antipodes Film Festival. Since its release, JUST A FARMER has not only captured the hearts of international audiences but has also sparked much-needed conversations about the mental health challenges in rural Australian communities. As part of a larger movement to bring awareness to these issues, it is the perfect way to launch BUNBURY MENTAL HEALTH WEEK 2025. ARRIVE EARLY from 5pm to enjoy light refreshments prior to the film screening. The MOVIE SCREENING will commence at 6pm. Stay for a POST-FILM PANEL DISCUSSION from 7:45pm. This is a ticketed community event supported by the Bunbury Mental Health Week Consortia. We would like to thank the City of Bunbury , WA Primary Health Alliance, St John of God Suicide Prevention and Pathways SouthWest for their support . This event was also funded by the Western Australian Association for Mental Health with the support of Lotterywest, as part of Mental Health Week 2025.” Art Exhibition BUNBURY MENTAL HEALTH WEEK ART EXHIBITION: There will be an Art Exhibition as part of Mental Health Week in our BREC Sky Bar from MONDAY 06 October – Friday 10 October 2025.
