Mental Health Week 2025
The Tamil Association of Western Australia (TAWA) is organising a Mental Health Week event on 11th October 2025, at Mandala Community Hall, Bateman from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The program will feature four distinguished speakers — Dr. Madhavan Seshadri, Dr. Lawaniah Sandran, Dr. Karthik Natarajan, and Dr. Laughter — who will share insights on mental health, stress management, resilience, and the role of humour in well-being. The event aims to create awareness, reduce stigma, and provide the community with practical tools to support mental health.
Mental health is a vital part of overall well-being, yet it is often overlooked or stigmatized in many communities. To address this need, the Tamil Association of Western Australia (TAWA) is hosting a special Mental Health Week event as part of its ongoing commitment to community development and wellness.
This engaging program will bring together medical professionals and wellness advocates to discuss key topics such as stress, resilience, emotional health, and the importance of laughter in healing. Through expert talks, interactive Q&A sessions, and community engagement, the event will empower individuals with knowledge and practical strategies to enhance their mental well-being.
The evening will also provide a platform for open dialogue, cultural connection, and resource sharing, helping to strengthen resilience within the Tamil community and beyond. By combining education, interaction, and positivity, this Mental Health Week event will promote healthier conversations about mental well-being in a supportive and inclusive environment.
This is a public event open to the whole community.
